Adobe Podcast, specifically its Enhance Speech feature, solves one of the most common audio problems for podcast producers, video creators, and remote workers: recordings made with consumer microphones, room echo, or background noise that sound amateur rather than professional.

The Enhance Speech AI was trained on thousands of studio-quality recordings and has learned to distinguish the characteristics of professional studio audio from the artefacts of consumer equipment and acoustically imperfect environments. Upload a voice recording with noticeable background noise, room reverb, or a low-quality microphone sound, and Enhance Speech returns a version that sounds significantly closer to studio quality.

The quality of the enhancement is genuinely impressive in many cases. The difference between an unprocessed Zoom recording and an enhanced version can be significant, which has made the free Enhance Speech tool extremely popular among podcast creators, YouTubers, and anyone who needs to produce professional-sounding audio without access to a treated recording space.

The full Adobe Podcast product, included with Creative Cloud subscriptions, adds recording, editing, and multi-track mixing capabilities alongside the Enhance Speech feature. This positions it as a web-based alternative to Audacity or GarageBand for podcasters who want browser-based production.

The limitation is that enhancement works best for voice content. It is designed specifically for human speech and does not improve music recordings or complex audio mixes. The processing can also sometimes produce artefacts in challenging recordings where the noise is particularly severe.
